Renato Soic
Renato Šoić is a research assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He received his master’s degree in 2010, with the thesis “Speech Synthesis for Croatian Language Using Festival”. After graduation, he spent several years working as a software engineer in private sector, where he was involved in various projects from different domains, including monitoring and control systems in satellite industry, mobile payment services and large-scale analytics and recommendation systems. Since 2016 he has been affiliated with the Department of Telecommunications at Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing as a research associate on the project “Looking to the Future 2020”, funded by Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM). His research interests include speech technologies and human-computer interaction in various domains. Renato Šoić has co-authored 3 conference papers and 2 journal papers. In scope of HR-SYNTH, he is involved specifically in researching speech synthesis and its applications.
